Testimonials

We think PlantNetwork is great but we admit that we are biased… The quotes below are taken from comments that members have made in feedback forms, emails and on social media.

Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to contact us with your feedback. We would appreciate constructive feedback too so we can further improve our membership offer.

From an email to PlantNetwork, August 2021:

“Can I just say a massive thank you to you and the whole plantnetwork team for keeping me almost sane during the last year or so. Keep it up we all really appreciate it.”

From an email to PlantNetwork, January 2021:

I would just like to say how much I appreciate receiving your weekly newsletter. During lockdown, I found I had more time to catch up with things like this, and now make sure I read it regularly. I think the content is excellent and very useful for keeping abreast of latest developments in this fast-moving world.”

From emails to PlantNetwork, December 2020:

I just wanted to personally thank you for the ‘boost’ that the weekly PlantNetwork news has given me each week. I’m sure other horticulturists who are having to work from home have also valued the connection to the ‘outside world’ that you have given us in an expectedly challenging year.”

Just wanted to say how great the PN website, webinars and members area is. […] PN continues to show what a valuable resource it is… It’s definitely been a vaccine for gardeners experiencing lockdown.

An email received after the Promoting Excellence in Horticulture Conference, organised with RBGE and Sibbaldia in October 2020:

Promoting Excellence in Horticulture Conference

Very many congratulations on a hugely successful conference. I thought the whole thing went very well and it was far better than I expected. The short videos in the second last session were great and I think that you, RBGE, Sibbaldia and PlantNetwork came out of it very well, it was a real triumph, especially considering the circumstances.”

Examples of feedback received after the Promoting Excellence in Horticulture Conference, October 2020:

I was glad that after all the turmoil this year that the Sibbaldia and PlantNetwork conference went ahead. […] I thought Friday session was excellent. There was a good mix of speakers and topics and being in horticulture for a long time it is still the same issues that keep cropping up trying to get young people involved in this great career.

I loved the format of the conference as there has been a fantastic balance between themes, communication media and formal/informal learning opportunities! The range and depth of the subjects covered was made fully engaging and very easy to follow by the expert speakers. An accessible and easy to follow mix of pre-recorded videos, live conferences, social opportunities and text material was made available as well as great opportunities for Q&As.”

…would be more than happy to attend “virtual” meetings and conferences from now on. The tours and added presentations were excellent.

Taken from social media following the end of the PlantNetwork lockdown coffee mornings which took place every Friday morning, June 2020:

A special thank you for the Friday get togethers, the camaraderie & advice from colleagues at Kew, Edinburgh, NT, NTS, RHS etc. made the lock-down experience more bearable, good luck everyone

From an email to PlantNetwork Coordinator after completing the Membership Survey, September 2019:

I’ve been going to the plant networks Plant records, Label and database lectures, etc since 2001. The lectures are usually great fun and very informative. The only minor criticism of those I’ve been to would be on odd occasions a lack of communication between the customer and the organisers although this has not been an issue recently. That aside the web site has improved vastly. …{It} is both informative, efficient and not too boring to look at.’’

Feedback from Masterplans Event, Trewithen Garden, September 2019:

1st time attending a meeting: thoroughly enjoyed it and informative.”

Thoroughly enjoyed the day and v interesting to see development of masterplan

Feedback from the Plant Records Group Meeting, Chester Zoo, May 2019 (anonymous):

Thank you for a warm welcome, enthusiasm and passion from everyone involved!

Taken from social media following the PlantNetwork Conference 2019 (from conference delegates):

I went to my first @PlantNetwork event last week, it was brilliant so I recommend joining.”

I took part in the conference in Dorset last week. It’s slightly outside my usual (forestry / nature conservation) network. I learned loads, felt welcome and made lots of good connections. Sounds like a glowing recommendation...”

Just attended their conference… excellent and well structured with good speakers and friendly attendance. Recommend.”

Email from a speaker after the PlantNetwork Conference 2019:

It has to be the best conference I’ve attended, very interesting, to the point, but everyone was also very friendly and very easy to talk to.”
