Back to presentations: Garden & landscape masterplanning
Mike Buffin is a consultancy manager for National Trust Consultancy in the London and South East region with a specialist in gardens and parks conservation . Mike is currently managing a number of projects for the region and will focus on two in his presentation. He will explore how conservation planning, in the form of conservation management plans, can be used to provide insight to two different garden projects. Mike will focus on Standen Revival and Mottisfont Frameyard (Feasibility) projects as they present two completely different approaches; Standen is a traditional Arts and Crafts garden restoration while Mottisfont has the potential to be a new design project, an approach that Mike believes is in keeping with the Donor, Maud Russell. During his talk, Mike will focus on how the NT scopes projects around a properties spirit of place and conservation planning to prioritise projects for regional/national approval.
