Back to presentations: Urban Public Gardens: challenges and opportunities
Dr Nancy Harrison is an ornithologist with an interest in urban landscapes and the consequences of urbanisation for garden birds. She studied Wildlife Biology at the University of California, moving to the UK in 1987 to work for the (then) Nature Conservancy Council and later the RSPB. She is now a Principal Lecturer at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge. For the past 10 years, she has been leading a research group studying blue tits and great tits breeding in Cambridge University Botanic Garden, evaluating the garden as habitat and, in particular, the relative use of native and non-native flora by foraging birds.
