Pam Smith is a horticulturist and has worked in public parks, and historic and botanic gardens. Formerly, she was Director of Winterbourne Botanic Garden at the University of Birmingham. Pam has used her botanical experience in a freelance capacity in the designed and built-environment sectors, using plant heritage, botany and urban food growing to work with policy makers, organisations and communities involved in urban environments. Currently, Pam is the National Trust’s Garden Consultant for Wales and the Midlands, but also undertakes freelance and voluntary work for urban botanical heritage projects in Birmingham. She is a Trustee for PlantNetwork.
