We continue our webinar programme throughout 2021. Join PlantNetwork this autumn for more exciting monthly webinars for professional horticulturists and associated roles.

Free to members, and available for a small charge to non-members*, the webinars cover a range of topics and issues relevant to all working in horticulture but particularly horticulturists in gardens and parks.

Field Studies Council: People, Environment, Biodiversity and Learning, 09 September 2021

Join Philip Turvil and colleagues from the Field Studies Council (FSC) to find out more about the FSC and how it could help you and your garden. If you are interested in nature, the environment and wider biodiversity, this session is for you. The FSC has some of the most accessible nature identification guides available – from winter trees to birds and butterflies – as well as training courses and resources that will help you to enthuse about the importance of the great outdoors to visitors!

Graham Bell and Dr Anne Stobart will be providing an introduction and overview to permaculture and forest gardening. Join two leading experts on permaculture for this introduction or refresh!

Plant Evolution for Horticulturists, 18 November 2021

Author of ‘A History of Plants in 50 Fossils‘ and Natural History Museum London palaeobotanist, Dr Paul Kenrick, will be joining PlantNetwork to provide a brief introduction to the evolution of plants – and to answer any burning questions you might have on the subject!

Gardening in 2046, 02 December 2021

Have you ever wondered what gardens and gardening might be like in 25 years time? The session will start with a series of lightning talks – short presentations on a series of topics related to the future of gardening – providing an opportunity to hear from a range of speakers. Following these short talks, there will be a panel discussion. The panel, chaired by Philip Turvil, will discuss their perspectives on what the future might look like  – from the planting we will be using to management approaches. You’ll have an opportunity to ask the panel any questions you might have about ‘Gardening in 2046’!
