Chartered Institute of Horticulture and PlantNetwork combined Study Tour


The Chartered Institute of Horticulture and PlantNetwork’s combined Study Tour is planned for Friday 12th May 2023. Please note, places are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis once bookings open. 
The CIH will be holding their Annual General Meeting at 6pm at the Double Tree Hilton, welcome to all CIH members who wish to attend. Registration for the AGM can be accessed via the CIH website.

New Forest Fruit Company The New Forest Fruit Company specialises in the commercial growing and packaging of soft fruit and asparagus, picking from March until the end of November. New Forest Fruit grow, pack and distribute all our fruit to the leading UK supermarkets.

Hillier Tree Nursery

Hillier Nurseries Hilliers tree nursery grows excess of 150 tree varieties across more than 700 acres in Hampshire.  Their British grown trees start from 8-10cm girth through to our super semi-mature trees.  Hillier is a family business with more than 150 years of horticultural passion and expertise.
Transport and lunch included

Pick up: 8.30am from Southampton train station or 9.00am from Double Tree Hilton hotel Southampton.

Returning: 5.00pm Double Tree Hilton hotel Southampton, 5.30pm Southampton train station.

Study tour tickets: £50 CIH & PlantNetwork members, £65 non-members. Current LSA Fellows qualify for CIH Member tickets.

Saturday 13th May Visit (own transport required) A complimentary garden visit, and tour from the head gardener Tom Clarke, at Exbury Gardens (SO45 1AZ.) on Saturday 13th May. An opportunity to visit this renowned garden established over 100 years, designed and curated by the Rothschild family completely free of charge for CIH Members.  Perfect for those staying over after The CIH annual general meeting or living nearby.  Transport will not be provided, however attendees are encouraged to car share wherever possible.
