Promoting Excellence in Horticulture Conference

PlantNetwork Conference 2020, in conjunction with Sibbaldia and RBGE

28-30 October 2020, ONLINE

Brought to you by PlantNetwork, Sibbaldia – The International Journal of Botanic Garden Horticulture, and the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, this conference celebrates horticultural achievements and considers how we can promote excellent horticultural practice across all public gardens and designed landscapes – whether botanic, heritage or destination gardens.

Part of the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh’s 350th anniversary celebrations, the event will cover the past, present and future of horticultural practice. In the company of an exciting programme of speakers there will be opportunities to debate the role of horticulture in the curation and conservation of plants, garden heritage and plant health issues. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals, students and keen amateur gardeners to network; the only prerequisite is an interest in horticulture! Due to the current COVID-19 uncertainty, we have moved this conference online and so hope that a wider audience can benefit from attendance.

The conference runs across three afternoons, from 28th October to 30th October 2020 with a variety of sessions including some purely focused on networking. Almost every speaker who was due to speak at the April conference at RBGE will still be speaking – an amazing array of horticultural experts.

While we will not be able to offer all the interaction of an in-person conference, we will still be offering a number of virtual tours of the plant collections at RBGE so you won’t miss out on seeing the garden.

For more information about the conference, including the conference programme, details of speakers, session information and networking events, please see the conference website.
