Join us at the Swiss Garden and the House at Shuttleworth on Wednesday 6th May for the PlantNetwork Plant Records Group Meeting 2020. The Plant Records Group meets annually to discuss plant recording and associated issues. As one of the most popular events in the PlantNetwork events calendar, book early to avoid disappointment.
The theme for this meeting is the role of mapping, apps and new technology in plant records management. We will explore the latest innovations that can be used in gardens to assist in the creation, maintenance and management of plant records, from developments in digital mapping to the latest apps and software. Innovators will be on hand to demonstrate how their technology works and will be happy to discuss ideas to develop products and services further.
The afternoon session provides an opportunity for delegates to present their own experiences, challenges and solutions in the field of plant records through the ‘Lightning Talks’ format: delegates have five minutes to talk about a plant records topic of their choice, providing an opportunity to discuss issues with peers. Please indicate interest in this session at time of booking.
Confirmed speakers include Tim Brewer, Senior Lecturer in Resource Survey at Cranfield University; Waheed Arshad, Botanist from Candide Gardening; and, Jonathan Smith of Pear Technology Services.
Suitable for everyone working in plant records in botanic, public and private gardens as well as horticulturists interested in the use and application of new technology to gardens.
