To start the autumn/winter monthly webinar series, we were joined by three experts to talk about topical plant health and related issues. Jonathan Hazelwood, Plant Health and Seeds Inspector (PHSI) with the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA), spoke about his role and how PHSI’s work with public gardens and horticulturists to prevent plant health problems. Dr Jassy Drakulic, plant pathologist with the Plant Health Team at the Royal Horticultural Society, spoke about the the work of the RHS in recording and monitoring plant pests and diseases through their adisory service, highlighting new issues. Julian Ives, of Dragonfli Ltd, highlighted some recent developments in glasshouse and garden biological control, including the emerging biocontrol of glasshouse cockroaches.
