COVID-19 May Update

The third webinar focusing on the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic discussed ‘unlocking’ gardens after the lockdown, with public gardens in England allowed to open from 1st June 2020. Gardens elsewhere in the UK remain closed whilst public gardens in the Republic of Ireland were permitted to open from 18th May 2020. A summary of the discussion is provided below, with an emphasis on the positive developments arising from the lockdown period given that many reopening plans are already in place and the negatives are already well documented.

This was the last COVID-19 webinar for the foreseeable future. A review webinar/discussion will be planned for later in the year for an opportunity to consider the impacts of the pandemic on public gardens – lessons learnt, planning for the future and unexpected outcomes.
