Health and wellbeing in horticulture and gardens

Over 40 people, representing over 32 gardens and organisations met at The Eden Project to discuss the opportunities for horticulture, gardens and the wider landscape in the roles of health and wellbeing.

Attendees were welcomed by David Harland, CEO of the Eden Project who shared the wider ambitions and partnerships the Eden Project is involved in.

Attendees had opportunities to visit some of the spaces that are used as part of their Social Prescribing and health and wellbeing initiatives. Over the one and a half day event we heard from NHS professionals as well as a number of gardens and Universities implementing and researching the beneficial role of interacting with nature on many levels.

There are a number of research papers associated with this topic, links to many of which are included in our resource booklet.
