Plant Records Training Day

This training day was relevant to anyone involved in the plant recording process in botanic, public and private gardens and plant collections. The day explored different recording systems, compared databases, and examined the type of information required. It also discussed the role of historical data, and the use of plant records outside the garden for the conservation of plants at the national and international level. It provided an opportunity to share experiences and network within the plant records community.

The training day took place at Chester Zoo and included a tour of the plant collections held by the zoo.

Speakers included representatives from the plant recording software providers BRAHMS and IrisBG; BGCI; Ness Botanic Gardens; Lovell Quinta Arboretum; English Heritage; Plant Heritage; and Chester Zoo. Their presentations will be available to view on this webpage very soon.
