Matthew Jebb has been chair of PlantNetwork for the past 9 years. A taxonomist by training, he spent his early career running a privately funded research station in Papua New Guinea, followed by a stint at Trinity College Dublin working on the Flora of Thailand. For the past 20 years Matthew has been based at the National Botanic Gardens of Ireland, of which he is now Director. He currently manages four sites for the National Historic Properties division, including Kilmacurragh Arboretum, the John F. Kennedy Arboretum and St. Enda’s Park, the former home of the Irish patriot Padraig Pearse.
