Eleanor Webster, Royal Horticultural Society Climate Change specialist

Eleanor recently joined the Royal Horticultural Society in the role of Climate Scientist. Her background is within Environmental Science and her research has involved assessing the implications of climate change on carbon storage in lowland peatlands, but also the effect of climate change on plant phenology. She is currently working on the ‘Gardening in a Changing Climate Report’ in collaboration with the University of Reading and University of Sheffield. After submission of the report in early 2017 and will be researching carbon cycling in a garden environment, both in terms of greenhouse gas exchange and soil carbon storage.
