Chilli thrips (Scirtothrips dorsalis) are highly polyphagous, being reported from more than 100 plant species across 40 families Unlikely to establish outdoors in northern and central Europe, but a major risk to glasshouse culture, as at RBG Kew. This outbreak demonstrated that the detection of invertebrates is difficult; that treatment and Eradication is also difficult; The importance of holding new accessions in quarantine.
