Chandan Mahal is Participation and Learning Manager at the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew, where she is developing participation and engagement strategies leading to audience-led interpretation at Kew. Prior to this, she was Head of Audience Development at The Women’s Library, where she was responsible for managing learning and community engagement programmes, artists’ residencies and public events. She was previously the Diversity and Community Programme Manager at the Museum of London, where her work encompassed gallery and exhibition projects, public programming and community development. She has carried out work for the V & A on research projects to explore content from the South Asian collections with a range of audiences. She is also a board member of engage (the National Association for Gallery Education).
