Visit to Sir Hans Sloane Herbarium, Natural History Museum London

This visit will form the launch of our Botanical Heritage Forum, a new networking and training group for those interested in the history of plant collections, botanical gardens and the natural sciences, in particular botany.

We will meet at the Natural History Museum at 11am to meet Forensic Botanist, Dr Mark Spencer FLS and Hon Curator (Plants) Linnean Society of London and Scientific Associate, NHM, London. Dr Spencer will lead the tour of the Hans Sloane Herbarium. There will be opportunity to look at specimens and discuss the management of the herbarium and its associated research.

Following the tour we will have the option to go for lunch and talk further about the role of this new Forum group and potential for future visits, networking and training events.
