Andrew Salisbury, RHS Senior Entomologist, and John Scrace, RHS Senior Plant Pathologist, hosted the workshop at RHS Wisley looking at the detection and identification of the most common pests and diseases affecting plants in the UK.

The focus was on garden plants and the workshop included:

• Groups of organisms most commonly infesting plants or causing disease in the UK
• Detection and identification
• Epidemiology and control
• Potential new pest and disease problems
• A tour of the garden showing pest and disease problems in context and their control
