Nagoya Protocol and plant collection responsibilities

This day brought together speakers including those specialists involved in setting and disseminating policy, as well as those who are responsible for implementing the various plant collections legislative responsibilities in their gardens.

The day included guidance and discussion on minimum record keeping standards, handling and sharing wild collected plant material, relevant legislation, an overview of the Nagoya Protocol and how various organisations and gardens are responding to this legislation.

This training day is a forerunner to our PlantNetwork Autumn conference which will look at plant records, ethical plant sourcing, plant legislation, best practice and opportunities for collaboration in greater detail.
