Guiding principles behind the collection
The Garden’s mission is to support research and education across the full range of academic disciplines within the University, with a particular, but not exclusive, focus on plant science, the environment, climate change and biodiversity conservation. It aims to raise awareness of the vital role of plants, and of the environment in general, in the survival of our planet and to contribute to the University’s carbon reduction efforts. In addition, it fosters engagement between the University and its local and national communities as a recreational visitor attraction and as a venue for public engagement, outreach and broader educational activities.
